Jeff -

I have an appointment to get mine done in Spokane on Friday at Spokane Sunscreen. They quoted me 169.99 + 15.00 to do the top of the windshield.

We discussed the cabinet area. Mine has AC so it would be a pain to remove the cabinet, removing and reinstalling the window is expensive, and he has an alternative.

On other Westys he has used black exterior plastic to cover the section of the back window that is blocked by the cabinet. You can't see out of it anyhow, and this material is designed to stand up to sunlight and car washes.

I'm thinking of giving that a try, because it wouldn't be very expensive to re-do it down the road if I have to.

As far as improving the AC effectiveness, it can't hurt. Last year mine was marginal. With the auxilliary fan I just added, even if this only makes a minor difference it should be comfortable (I hope!).

I'm considering getting my windows tinted on my '90 Westfalia to reduce=20 the temperature inside the Van. I don't want to go too dark because we=20 enjoy the view, the film I'm considering is metallized and has 100 UV=20 protection. I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions about how=20 effective this will be, is it the greatest?, any regrets?=20 I'll have it done professionally. Any good shops in the Seattle area?=20 How do you deal with the area behind the rear cabinet? I can get=20 the window removed and re-installed for about $50. Is that reasonable?,=20 other options?
