He probably removed the window. It isn't that hard to do. I helped the guy remove mine, and he didn't charge any extra.

Apparently the main problems with the cabinet is getting the window clean enough in the prep, then squeeging out the bubbles. Not really enough room to do either with the window in. It probably added 15min to the time to take the window out and tint it.
