Let me think..... camping in a place hundreds of miles from home out in a
fairly deserted place... I can't IMAGINE why having a gun would make one
feel more secure (sarcasm).

If you are ignorant enough to believe that the police will protect you,
then go on ahead and believe that :)  I, personally, take responsibility
for my own protection from threats whether they be man or beast.

Plus, I bet alot of listers use their Westies as a hunting lodge -- yes?
Much cheaper than building a cabin and it would serve its purpose, so long
as you can find a way to heat it at night.
