I was the author of "Crash...Bang...Boom...". Long story short is I was rear ended while driving my beloved 91' Vanagon. I was hit while stopped and the offending rear ender was driving a Ford Econoline van doing 40-45 into me...a stationary.

Anyway, the insurance company has declared my van, affectionately, know as Bread, a total loss. I fought this decision to the end, but all in all it will cost more to repair that they consider it worth. So now I am stuck buying a new auto....any suggestions? Not the Eurovan. Maybe the Jetta wagon, thats a nice vehicle.

Today I salvaged all my possessions from Bread. I got the stereo, speakers and many things I wanted to make available to me fellow list members. Items like custom seat covers, all 4 hub caps and the rear engine pad. My question is should I list all the items here with prices or would it be better to use a forum like E-Bay? I didn't want to burden the list with an ad but if its acceptable I will. Or e-mail me directly if you would like.

So in closing...wear your seatbelts and the Vanagon will protect you.

Thanks, Mike S

PS. I got the photos of the damage and will be making them available once I get a chance to scan them.
