I have a customer's Syncro Doublecab at my workshop, that has previously
been converted to a Subaru Legacy engine. One oddity of the Subaru engine is
that the coolant flow to the heater core must be constant, i.e. the flow
cannot be restricted or shut off, as this will cause the engine to run hot
or overheat. Has someone designed or used a three-way valve, or other type
bypass system that will allow the coolant to be closed off as normal, to the
heater core, but at the same time allow the coolant to continue to flow back
to the engine in a completed circuit? Any ideas? Thanks!
