The Syncro has a hill climbing gear, but there is NO WAY you could mistakenly have put a Syncro tranny in a 2wd Vanagon without major reconstruction and welding. Are you sure of the 6 speeds? How is the shift pattern configured, do you know the tranny code, etc. etc.
