1280x1064 is needed. This can be a problem if

1) Your graphics card won't allow that high a resolution. or 2) Graphics card goes that high, but monitor is small making it hard to read.

To solve either problem, you can install a "virtual desktop". You can download a utility like this from many shareware sites. Try http://www.tucows.com

What this does is makes the OS think that the desktop is bigger, but you only see part of it at any given time. You can scroll to the unseen parts. Think of it as reading a newspaper spread out on the floor while looking through a box open at both ends. You slid the box around to read different parts of the page. Your monitor's plastic frame becomes the "box" and it is moved around over the imaginary large desktop. The graphics card at any given time is displaying less resolution, such as 1024x768.
