I know quite a few people who do this, especially mechanics. I don't know how much of a difference it will make, but I think using the diesel filter is better then using the gas.

I think though it makes more difference by using a higher quality filter vs using something cheap like a fram.

Baldwin makes what I think its probably the best filter for the diesel.

Its the Baldwin V2-F filter. They make a B2 filter, which is the same as the Fram PH8A filter ( not in quality, but in type ). The difference is that the V2-F filter uses a cottom/fiberglass depth core...its a depth filter, and traps particles down to the 5 micron range, while normal filters filter down to 30-40 microns.

These depth type filters are the line they sell to amsoil. Baldwin makes the spin filters for amsoil. The nice thing is the price difference. The V2-F costs $1 more then the B2.

Baldwin also makes a high quality conventional type filter for the diesel - B114.

I use the V2F on my diesel.
