Subject: Re: Optima battery for $129? The right one?
Comments: To: Kent Christensen <lkchris@USWEST.NET>

I have an interesting story to tell regarding the optima battery.

My the way,. I use them in all my VW's.

About a month ago I was in the local FLAPS waiting in line, minding my own business. I overhear the guy behind the counter say" spiral core technology?? I do not know if I could take this as a core battery" I step up to take a look, and it was an Optima with none of the stickers punched out on it. I asked the owner of it what was wrong with it, and he said that it would not hold a charge, and he lost his reciept to exchange it.

I promptly asked if I could give him $5 for it, and he readily accepted. I drove to the place that sells Optimas, walked in with an old battery and out with a new Optima for $0.

Right place at the right time I guess.

I'd be suprised if you would need the warranty--they're > pretty bulletproof and are apparently extensively used in industry.
