Subject: Boston Bob's yellow head cap nut sealer
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Folks, The head resealing procedure so kindly published by "Boston Bob" refers to a yellow head cap nut sealer. Does anyone (Bob?) know what kind of sealer this is? I have purchased an engine gasket kit from The Bus Depot which comes with an OEM type black water gasket sealer. The Bentley manual indicates using this black sealer on the cap nuts. Whats the dif?

Also, I think I may have really goofed. I noted -a bit late- in the Bentley manual that I should have marked the push rods for replacement to the same position. I know which head they go to but not which position. Is this a bad thing? What do I need to do now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks, Eric Small Hard at work and greasy to the elbows in So.Portland, Maine '86 GL Weekender
