The 1.8T is simpler than the TDI for a few reasons:

- The Passat / A4 1.8T has a throttle cable - TDI has a potentiometer you have to interface - The 1.8T is gasoline and you don't have to change over your fuel system - Wiring is a *little* easier than a TDI... both are pretty modular (Central Electric II)
