Katy,

You're going to have company annoying everyone on the list. I drove my '87 Westy for the first time when I drove it home from the shop yesterday!!! It drives real different from my '96 Civic (gross understatement!). I found that the more I drove it, the more I wanted to keep driving it! I think I'm in love :^) I've wondered for a long time why people driving Vanagons and other VW buses always have a smile on their face when they're cruising down the highway. Now I know.

You don't have to worry about getting whiplash from the head-snapping acceleration, but it does get up and go smoothly, steadily, with commitment. And for somebody like me, 6'4", 230 lbs., it's great to be able to climb UP into a vehicle, have headroom, not feel cramped, prop your arm up on the windowsill and stare out over the top of the acres of minivans!

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've been enjoying mine!

Marc Perdue '87 Westy (Can't decide between "Silverado" or "Silverbell")
