I think I remember a picture in the Bentley that shows two switches (solenoids) side by side with the "air" lines teed together. I will look when I get home. Jay

This could work. The only thing that I wonder about is if the PS valve is full time hot and it is just grounded through the switch on the pump (I haven't been able to find anything in the Bentley about the wiring for the PS switch only the A/C). If this is so then you could use a relay on the A/C clutch wire to close and ground the PS valve (opening it and thereby idling up the motor when you turned on the A/C). Let me know how you make out.
