Wow, yourself! Two months on the road and teaching an online course to boot. Sounds like fun.

This may just be age playing tricks on my mind, but I could swear that I have seen modem hookups at pay phones somewhere in the past year. Maybe on my trip from Atlanta to South Texas and back in my 85 Westy. I can just visualize this little RJ-11 jack on the pay phone. Please don't tell me I dreamed this.

With the novelty of teaching an online course from a campground, you could probably talk the ranger or other desk personnel at the office to let you hook up there if there is a local dial-in number. See if you can work them into the lesson for the day. I'd sure let you! How about radio or TV stations? It would be more interesting news than we see most of the time. What a great personal interest story. We could follow you across the country! Maybe local schools or colleges, again with the novelty of it.

If you are in Atlanta or North Georgia before end of July, come to my house. Finger Lakes region of NY anytime, my mother would welcome you. Give us your itinerary and I bet we could get you a dial in almost every day from the list. You would have to give Gerry (vanagon.com list) credit for the course, of course :-)

Good luck and keep us posted.

Jim in Atlanta
