Subject: WAS Suggestions for internet access on the road?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I have been working on setting up our office on the internet for in/out of state for our field officers. This is how we will do it.

Try this: Get your self a toll free number form ATT (or your phone provider [long distance]) and have it point to your ISP's access number. Make sure this is a toll free number where you might be traveling to. You pay for the 1800 number in a number of different ways (i.e. per call, flat rate-per month) and as long as you can access a phone with a jack to plug into your laptop you can dial the 800 number and connect to your ISP. Any truck stop should have phones that you could use for this purpose.

This way you don't pay any money at the phone where your sitting, you just get a bill for your 1800 number usage every month. You could also do your banking on-line and pay the 1800 bill on-line if you were on the road for more than a month.
