Fuel + heat + timing = combustion. I would check all 4 glow plugs for proper operation. If they are good, check the pump timing.

hi!

since 2-3 week, my west is hard to start when the engine is cold. it do that half of the time. sometime, it seem to start very easy , but it stall suddenly and when i try a second time it's long (holding key about 5-6 seconds) and after 4 or 5 try, it finally start (and doing a lot of diesel smoke!)

can somebody help me? note that it's a diesel engine from a 92 golf
