The adhesive does not peal and is not tacky, but does seem to have a little stretch. I did no special preparation except to clean the area. I used the old mylar balloon for the patch, but there are other sources of mylar.

Very interesting! Does the stuff stay tacky? Can you peel it off the poly leaving a shiny surface? I'm curious how resistant it would be to stripping off. Did you prepare the surface in any way?
