Here's a problem for our collective wisdom. What would cause the transmission main shaft where the clutch plate rides on it to become damaged 3 times in about 25000 miles to the point that the clutch doesn't release. The problem was fixed twice at the dealer, replacing the main shaft, clutch plate and pressure plate, pilot bearing, main shaft seal, and throwout bearing each time. The problem develops very suddenly, typically in 50 miles of driving, maybe less. This is my vehicle, and I'm wondering how to fix this for good. Has anyone else out there seen a failure like this, and if so, how did you deal with it. What was the Cause? Hopefully, Chuck Hill |
