To all; First off thanks for the replies that I have been getting. Now more background. My Westy is a 87 GL w/automatic and 135K on it. it is running good now but started to leave small spots(2") after being parked overnight in the winter. I am trying to decide between rebuilding or replacing the engine. Here in Michigan ground clearance is important. The best camping spots are "Off Road" and in the winter time to snow can get deep. I am a mechcanic and have done swaps and mods before. I also know that you have to be careful that when you gain in one area that you do not lose in another. The Subaru Kits have good points, but the ground clearance would be a big problem. The SA Golf kits look good but I question the lack of a O2 sensor. I have run into problems before where the projects run great in the summer, but will not idle/run in the cold winter. Jeff Klender |
