I like my oil pressure gauge. After talking with a few Vanagon mechnics, it seems at the age of our van, the L-board often starts to do funny things, so having a real reading instead of an idiot light makes more sense to me. I mounted the single gauge right on the dash. There's a pic at: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/dash.jpg and http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/dash2.jpg I could have done a neater job on the wires, but I'm not anal when it comes to stuff like that. It works and tells me the oil pressure. I also second Bill Dummitt's suggestion of the Digitool. I used to run with it hooked up constantly, but packed it in for a while. Great for double-checking the coolant temp since it comes from a different sender than the dash gauge sender. -Karl -- Karl & Kristina Bloss - vanagon@makarov.com 1987 Westfalia Weekender "Bev" - 197K Miles http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw VW Shop List: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/vwshops |
