HEY THERE fellow listers...I have a question for ya... I now have a 84 an 85 and a 86 GL Vanagon. The 86 i am keeping, the 85 i wish to sell. and the 84 i just want rid of, due to lack of space.(imagine that eh?) two questions, First what should i take off the 84 before it goes to the great vw heaven? the engine is according to the PO, Shot...the usual head leak problems...water inside, outside and in between...i am trying to part it out and at least figure out what is worth taking off it before I ditch it. Any ideas? i.e.: the tranny? Windows? Etc. am not a master mechanic...more of an x ray tech actually so although I have the "BOOK" i am not terribly mechanically inclined. The second question is, What should I try to get out of the 85 GL? It runs good and is in pretty decent body shape, with a few dings and dents. It does however have leaky heads, and I don't want to rip anyone off, but would like to get what it is worth approximately also, my 86 has some front damage, around the headlight...driver side. should I consider having a body shop remove that area off the 84 before it gets junked and weld it to the 86? I would like to get one nice van out of the bunch and since the 86 is the best of the three she will be the one.

Sorry for the ranting and thanks in advance for any advice you have.

Alan 86 GL-
