Subject: Air Conditioner in the Front
Content-type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I have a 1987 Syncro GL, Born and raised in California.

My air Conditioner is mounted completely in the dashboard of the vehicle - feeding out of the left and right vents, and two vents in the middle where the Bentley says the radio should be! The evaporator and the condenser are both up the front. The condenser is mounted right in front of the radiator, and the evaporator is in the dash. After reading the Bentley, my only conclusion is that it is an aftermarket unit.

(1) How did I get this unique A/C - who makes and installs aftermarket A/c's for Vanagaons in California? When running, the van idles very low and sometimes stalls, and I'm wondering if there is any hookup to tell the Digifant that the A/C is on so it can raise the idle. Or is that the job of the Idle Stabilizer?

(2) I'm now quite curious to see if I can also install the Rear roof-mount unit as well. Anyone selling the rear A/C assembly?

Am I the only one with this front-installed Air Conditioner? Gosh, I feel so special. Especially after hearing how so many people can't feel the A/C in the front!
