You should always have some air flow through the dash. Check to make sure that the heater valve is adjusted correctly to prevent water flow through the core. There will be air flow, but it will be ambient temperature. This seems to be a common problem.

My van seems to leak a lot of hot air out of the dash heater. It can give you quite a hot foot if you're driving barefoot.

I'm thinking I need to check the heater for leaks. I tried to remove the plastic face plate below the dash, behind the stick shift. The left side slides off but the right is holding fast. Don't see any screw or latch.

Anybody know if the face plate should slide off easily? Do all vans leak like this? Anybody ever install a bypass to keep the hot water from the heater? I live in Texas and really don't need any extra heat ;)

Thanks. -- Tim Wise '87 WWW
