Subject: Re: Troubleshooting 'Frig Cooling Problem

Actually, not on our Vanagon but on our Tioga Arrow frig, the same thing is going on. Before, the frig actually froze cans and then popped making a real mess. Now the electric doesn't work (think it is switch contacts) and the gas lights up fine but the frig only cools to 60 degrees which is almost worthless. I haven't had a chance to dig into it yet but would be interested in any ideas. It has been sitting for several days now. We only use the RV intermittantly for dog shows. That means about once every two months for a weekend. We usually turn the frig on about 4-5 days in advance of the trip so that it will get cooled down but on the last trip, it got down to about 40 for a while and then started inching up. Stopped at 60 degrees. That is where it stays now. Everything seems to be working properly. Even very close to perfectly level. Always try to get the bubble totally within the circle on the bubble level. Cooling unit replaced a couple years ago, thermostat replaced twice and some other stuff but it still has intermittant reliability. Now this 60 degree thing.

William
