In reference to your second paragraph. You seem to be equating my (and
others) desire not to have the List Admin turning backflips and handstands
to the full support of unsolicited email marketing, including porn. Having
so grouped us in with the spammers pornographers you then tell us to go to
hell and even offer violence with your "piece of lead" to help us along. To
top it off you then practically beg for responses in the same tone you have
seen fit to use.
I am at a loss as to how to respond to a mind that can make such
connections so I shall not try. I can only congratulate you on your packing
more BS in that single paragraph then I have seen in all the "ad's for
bullsh!t companies" that have managed to get to the list.

Well...I run a pair of rather large lists...some of you may know them.;)
(i run the system behind the lists, at least.)
If you support unsolicited email marketing, you can go to hell right now,
and i have a piece of lead that would be glad to help. (in fact, if
you do, please please flame me, so's that i can go ahead and take
preventive measures)
Now, for the rest of you...you probably do not enjoy seeing Porn ad's in
your email box, ad's for bullsh!t companies, etc cluttering up space. You
dont like to download that 400k attached file of a naked guy that is
attached to the porn ad, and you most certianly dont like the fact that
PEOPLE MAKE MONEY FROM EVERY ONE OF THOSE EMAILS.
Companies..groups of people, really...are PAID to do this. Millions of
dollars in revenue. And we wont talk about wasted space, wasted
bandwidth, stolen AOL accounts used for this, and other wastes.
Anyway. Every one of these emails that is allowed through is more money
for these people. Not only that, if they think this list is spam
friendly, perhaps they will subscribe for a week or two and harvest YUR
addresses. Then the spam is sent not only to the lst, but to .you.
directly as well. And that multiplies expotentialy. You'll be on one
spammers mailing list this week..but next week they will sell copies of
that list to 10 more agencies. By not standing .against this, you
support it.
A little bit of work be damned. Our servers do not allow connections from
open relays, dialups, or any spam friendly internet providers. Or known
spam companies.
Any spam we do get is scrutinized, traced, and reported. As well as
blocked.
Anything that Tom does to prevent spam through the vanagon list is a
.good thing.
I'm going to shut up now, as this is totally off topic.
