I put my 18' cedar canvas canoe (approx 95-100 lbs) directly ontop of my poptop, I made a rubstrip/tie down atttachment for the rear edge of the top, and at the front edge of the luggage rack the canoe rests on rubber pads. I'll be glad to give you the details if you'd like.
