Subject: Battery/Beckett advice wanted
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed
Mr. Beckett (or anyone) after following the battery thread I have a question
about a Exide deep cycle I just replaced in my 95 EVC (Eurovan Camper). The
van we bought with a dead aux battery, replaced it with new Exide Deep cycle
from FLAPS. One year later Battery was not taking charge. I checked entire
charging sys and finally pulled batt and trickle charged. Other note: when
exploring the vehicles elec. sys. after purchase I could not find the 30 amp
aux batt fuse in the manual. Winebago claimed they instructed
dealers/service centers to remove it after experiencing many service
problems with it. There is a place where it looks like mine was cut away
from the wire in the batt compartment. Wire to batt is heavy gage.
Could this be why my batt went dead after 1 year? (other than just a bad
batt to begin with) Note: batt was checked regularly for fluid and
discharged and recharged at normal intervals (light use).
