Bill, did I say the Optima was a gel-cell? No. It is a spirally wound AGM varient. I know I mentioned AGM batts. in my last post. I just re-read it. I suggest you do the same. And I also mentioned that AGM batts don't have a problem with high amp charging. BTW, AGM stands for Absorbed Glass Mat. I'm a double E with over 23 years of experiance( with all things electrical, but as you can see, I have yet to figure out how to turn the spell check on on my son's computer...) and work for a company called Exide. We design an make all sorts of batteries, along with a lot of other nifty electrical gadgets. We also make our own version of the Optima, called the Orbital. Nice batt., partially my baby.
