Umm, that is ridiculous. I'm subscribed to over a dozen mailing lists. I've used the Internet since the early 90's and have worked in the industry since 96. It is defacto standard to put the actual sender in the From: field. Otherwise it's impossible to reply directly to the sender. Believe it or not, you don't ALWAYS want your message to go to the entire list... I've never seen any mailing list, even lists with over 100 thousand subscribers, where the email address is masked.
