It's a tiny little flame, Mark -- about like a good healthy pilot flame for
a furnace or water heater.  And the pilot flame is so soft you wonder that
it stays lit -- there's no separate pilot, they just turn down the gas on
the main until it's just barely burning.  The thermocouple is offset
horizontally roughly to the edge of the burner itself, and I don't think
you can move it.  It's in the main flame, but noticeably above the pilot.
