Subject: OE muffler/cat life expectancy?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Since mufflers are the talk ofthe list lately, how long should an OE muffler last? My 90GL still has it's original muffler/cat and we hit 150k a week ago. Is this standard or a fluke?. Also, with the gas mileage not being what others are getting according to this list, assuming the other items on the engine are okay, could this cat be partially clogged and costing me gas mileage despite the fact that the motor seems to run okay?. It does the 0-60 in 17.2 like the road test article stated, FYI. The headers/stainless stuff sounds intriguing, but I'd like to wear out the old stuff first. And still not sure I don't want to go the 5 cyl route when the motor goes.
