Yes

Do you use a >floor jack?

I returned mine to Canadian Tire, twice, as the things never held pressure, and always came down slowly.

Do you use a bumper jack from a 1962 Buick?

No - I use the 61 model - is there a 62?

>OK, question two. If you use a floor jack, how do you position the jack on >the bottom of the jack receivers built into the Vanagon?

I didn't do it that way - I jacked it up using the cross-support on the frame, just inboard of the jack-receivers - and used the jackstands beside that.

f you do that, how >do you fit jack stand under the receivers while the floor jack is there?

see above > >You made it this far in the quiz. Now for question three. Has anyone tried >a gizmo originally developed by the aftermarket Porsche group?

I am sure someone has, yes. Not me though, as I am just learning of it now.

I know that >we have some Porsche owners out there, so 'fess up. It is a plate that fits >the circular area of a floor jack welded to a bar that inserts into the jack >receiver on the car (or Vanagon in this case). There are a few different >models available, will they fit our trusty Vanagons?

I don't know - but why not just use the Vanagon OEM jack, and place the jackstands under crossbar, and save the coin? What is the benefit of these special units? > >Now for the last question. If you use a bumper jack from a 1962 Buick, are >you crazy or what?

If you have to ask, it is too late for you already. >
