Jim, I Helicoiled (if there is such a verb) a stud hole on each side of the forward exhaust ports without removing the engine. I do not recall if they were the upper or lower or one of each. It was a royal pain in the ass but, I did them in place. This was on a stick shift 2WD. It has been about 7 years since I did it so, if any more of the details come to mind, I'll let you know. Rich
