Hi Chris,

You just described the whole UP! I live about 50 miles south of the bridge and we go up there when we can. Quite often, we just get a map and go. If I could spell half of the places, I'd be glad to tell you about them. This weekend there is a giant car show in Saint Ignace (the UP side of Machinaw) Usually about 2000+ cars. Everything from antiques to Hot Rods. Tequamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Marquette, the Kewanaw peninsula, Fayette.... How many months do you have? You would be well advised to carry a few gallons of fuel as some of the towns close down at sunset and others are just far between. (Please don't start a flame about carring fuel folks). When are you thinking about going? A lot a of folks around here (trolls: below the bridge) just go and explore. A lot of mining history, lumbering history, and a whole bunch of trees. If I think about this some more, I might be able to come up with more details. Mark
