Last month I drove my 86 from El Paso, TX to Northwestern MO and back. About 2500 miles total. I saw one Vanagon the entire trip. It was a white 86 or newer adventurewagon on Hwy 54 between El Paso, TX and Alamagordo, NM.

No other VW buses of any year and only 2 beetles spotted.

At a gas station in Topeka, KS I was asked if that was really a Volkswagon.

Maybe some of us are just getting too old.
