Subject: 2nd Battery Wiring Question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Okay, here's one for the electrical engineers:

What difference, if any, will the two different wiring schemes have: (Assume the relay closes when ignition activates the starting process, the auxiliary battery has been deeply discharged and is connected with #4 wire.)

1.

Aux Batt ----- Relay ---- Start Batt ---- Starter ---- Alternator

2.

Start Batt ---- Starter ---- Alternator ---- Relay ---- Aux Batt

Will one of the above put less strain on the starting battery?

All answers and opinions welcome. Thanks.

Bill
