I saw a Vanagon in the movie "Solider" with Kurt Russel the other night.
This van was actually on a distant planet in another part of the galaxy.  It
was a trash planet (unfortunately) and not some haven for endangered
vehicles.  This may be what is happening to our vans.  They are being
abducted :)

On another, more serious, note, this time of year the Jersey Shore is highly
populated with Vanagons and Westies.  I was thinking about taking a day next
week just to drive around and put flyers on all the vans I saw (and hopefully
meet a few owners).  So Mark, maybe all the vans aren't in the midwest, but
have migrated to shore locations.  Drive across the country later in the year
and you'll probably see more.
