Subject: Re: Westy Speaker
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Hi all,

I just replace my front speakers on my 87 Westy using the original VW speaker housings/grills. By the way, they are actually 3-1/2" speakers, not 4".

I pryed out the original speakers from the plastic housing and put a bead of silicone around the circumference of the inside of the housing as a spacer, so the new speaker tweeter would not pust against the plastic grill. After that dried, I installed 3 1/2" Infinity speakers into the housings, after cutting & grinding off their metal ears, then siliconed them into place.

Good luck,

Ray Salt Lake City
