Hey y'all, I'm on my trip to Alaska I talked so much about this spring, and off the list. Hope you and your vans are all running fine.

Bleeder valve thingy broke and lost all my coolant. No damage. Fixed leak, but local VW dealer was out of proper coolant, so I had to use green stuff bought at FLAPS.

It's that Sierra stuff, phosphate-free and all. Supposed to meet specs, but I'm skeptical. Local shops charge almost $200 for coolant change, can't do myself on the road. Only paid $100 in Seattle.

Question: will it harm the engine at all to leave the Sierra stuff in until I return home and have VW/Autobahn coolant put in? We're talking maybe 10k miles of driving. Or is it worth paying the high price and getting the right

stuff put in now?

I really appreciate your answers since the engine is in good shape with recently re-done heads.

Please e-mail to above, I'm not on list now.

THANKS!!

Steve "Calvin" 84 Westy
