Hello all!
I would like to offer this to a good list home before throwing it to the
wolves of the classified ads or eBay:
1984 Vanagon Wolfs 7 pass 4 spd. $2000
Miles: 110,000 approx.
A/C: works, R134, pretty good but I've never seen a vanagon with great ac yet
Steering: Power, some leak around pump fittings but no imminent hazard
Brakes: New master cyl professionally installed w/in last 6 mo, german part
Clutch: good. master is leaking slightly, new FAG part incl with van u
install
new german slave cyl incl too just to do the job right from bus
dep.
Rust: none really. if you get real nitpicky you can find a couple MINOR
places where it is just starting to peek through on a seam under the front
doors but hardly
Dents: a few little dings no major.
Tires: 75% but incorrect passenger car from prev. owner
CV joints: 4 new lobro w/in last 6 mo from pro shop vw specialists locally
new fuel pressure regulator
Seats: blue interior front seats not torn middle is torn rear good no tears
rear seat folds into bed
Glass great
Minor issues: rear heater switch inop, oil drips from main seal a little not
huge, paint faded a little ( navy blue single tone) on the sliding door more
than the rest, rub out
I would like this to go to a good home. I spent a lot of $ on this van but
am buying a house and something needs to go. CVs and fuel pres reg were
$500, master was $400, clutch parts that come along $200, new front seats (
used good) $200, a/c charge $50, 4 pioneer speakers $200. I have receipts
for most of this. Looks great for the year and for the area. Sold new here
locally in Lawrence KS. I need $2000 from this van as I have been offered
more than that from people here but they are not VW fans and going to a good
home means something so I will let it go for 2 here. I dont think you could
find a better $2k vanagon. The PO claimed to have had the heads redone to
the tune of almost 2 grand a year or two ago but I never got the paperwork
from them. Looking at the heads it sure looks like it, no coolant I can see.
Drive anywhere now. Spare used AFM comes along as do screens for rear
window and blaupunkt CD stereo with amp which rocks the van, a spare rear TS
lens and a mann filter (oil).
Thanks for the BW here, sorry so long, hope this will appeal to someone
before it goes to the paper. BTW, Located in Kansas City metro area.
