I would like to add an article on www.vanagon.com about doing a basic Vanagon tune-up. Does anyone have something already written up, or would be willing to write something up that you think would benefit the community at large? Especially helpful would be information on the differences between model years, etc. Over the years I have seen a lot of posts about adjusting AFMs, etc., but very little about mundane tune-ups. Thanks! Can anyone tell me what distributor cap they use on an '84 Van? Parts catalog calls for 03212, but my VW mechanic sold me a 03360. Said 03212 has extra metal that causes arching. ???? Also plug wires? Bentley talks about old style and new style. I got 09180's but it doesn't look like the new style. I'm heading to the Allegheny National Forest on Thursday and want to get this straightened out. Also, if anyone has any advice on good free camping areas in the ANF I'd appreciate it. Thinking southern or eastern side. Peace - donna '84 Westy (Pepe) |
