Howdy all, My uncle called me and is going to have a look at a 1969 loaf for sale. It belongs to some college kid who is selling it to finance tuition (poor kid - I had to sell my 1959 single cab for the same reason - not fair!!!). Can anyone point me to a good web page that has the model info like the vanagon.com page? I looked at type2.com, but I didn't find any really useful info for looking at a bus to buy. This 69 has a rebuilt dual port 1600 in it, no pop-top, but all the camping gear (stove, ice box, bed, etc.). Just wondering if that's the way it came, or if that's added on. Also, hints of typical problem areas (aside from the obvious problems of a 30 year old bus) would be good. The guy has done a lot of work to it (new heater channels, etc) and says he has done several VW projects before. Best part is he's only asking $2500 CDN for it. I'm trying to convince my uncle to buy and just hold on to it until I can afford to buy it from him! ;-) Cheers! Keith Adams Calgary, Alberta, Canada 1986 Vanagon GL Westfalia |
