Subject: Temp and Bleeding system
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi Volks and Karl, David, Darrell, Donna and other kind souls who emailed.

My hubby now refers to the "list" as "the council". "Take it before the council" was his advise after we bled the system. Yikes what an ordeal! Up on the ramps (and I measured too) 20 inches off the ground from the cross member. Hubby in front with the radiator bleed screw, Gabe (17 year old son) in the van to start and run it at 2000 rpm when needed and me at the back with the housing bleeder valve open expansion cap off and coolant in hand. To my dismay when I opened the expansion valve the color of my supposedly 2 new @ $10.59 a gallon orange Dexcool was olive greenish . (arghhh....is this now going to screw my system up even more????) The reason I changed it was the PO shop had put some recycled stuff in it-and even they couldn't tell me what it was. No wonder I couldn't find a green, phosphate free, e.g. brand) So I didn't get a flush after all from Chris which he confirmed by phone. We got air out but no coolant ever came out of the rear bleeder and we followed the Bentley and list advise ver batim. (is coolant supposed to come out of the rear too?) Took it for a drive and I'm still funning 3/4. So tomorrow we're going to put in the new 180 degree thermostat and BLEED it again. Time is running out and if I don't get out of here soon I'm liable to get sued for not showing up.

Oh....Jezebel is being naughty.

Ha.....for you guru's no. For me 1/2 an hour and panicked the whole time worrying we're doing it wrong. Hubby is ready to let me sleep outside in the Westy. Oh.....and I crawled underneath while it was up there and sure enough I still had a leak on the pass side main long hose at the clamp. Ended up putting on a new clamp and think that's finally fixed. Looked like its been leaking a while too. That was something I was told was taken care of yesterday. Hubby says it was the clamp. Acts like it tightens but really didn't.

Thanks again for all the tips they're really appreciated. Any more clues, hints, tips from "The Council"?
