Most estimates I have seen from other folks have ranged from a low of about $850 to a high of over $1500. You can do them yourself for about $200. In spite of what you may have heard the job is NOT that hard. I did mine and I doubt if you can find a more amateurish amateur than me. Get a copy of the Boston Engine article in the archives and look it over. That, the Bentley and the advice of the good folks here got many a tyro like me through.
