I have spent a lot of time romping around the wilds of Baja, so I tend to go overboard, but here is some of what I carry (in addition to the stuff you listed):

A metric sockets, combination wrenches, brake spoon, and pliers wrapped up in a couple of Sears Craftsman vinyl pouches with Velcro straps (available at sears for about $6 each) "Breaker bar" or leverage extender. (Fancy name for a piece of steel pipe that slides over hte handle of a socket wrench) Spare belts A wiring kit including fuses, lengths of various guage wires, solderless connectors, spare bulbs, test leads, and a small circuit tester (this is a hold-over from my days with British cars) A REAL first aid kit, inlcuding some heavy duty prescription pain killers and suture kits for severe emergencies when way off the beaten path. "Marine Goop" and JB Weld Spare wiper blade Assortment of hose clamps Assortment of metric nuts, washers, and bolts Adhesive-backed velcro (comes in very handy some times) Small water purifier (MSR unit) Extra can of propane Engine rebuild-in-a-can (just in case I blow the engine and can't get it towed to the dealer)

PS - just kidding about the rebuild-in-a-can...
