I would take as many electrical parst as possible. Like fuel pump, relays, AFM, heat sensor, digital meter, electric tape, hammer, small compressor, towing rope, reflective triangle, jumper cable, two quarts of oil, a set of basic car tools like the ones they sell in super stores, a set of tire repair kit, light bulbs of all kind, hose clamps, latex gloves and leather gloves, flash lite, nail clipper, hydrogen peroxide, paper towel, Bently manual, timing lite, etc... Most of these you should have in the car all the time. Check spare tire before. See if your wheel nuts come off now. It is not fun to find it out later that they are stuck forever and your wrench rather breaks than they come loose. Some brake fluid is good, and some of the smaller hydraulic parts won't take up room either. If you plan to be away from the city make sure you won't miss a thing. All these will not invite break downs but surely scare them away. Whe I rent out vans I include most of these. Someone thought the car is likely to break down that's why I put all there. It is a very complicated machine with many accesories, boiling water, burning hot oil, with lots of surprises to offer. Did I forget anything?
