ok, not feeling especially creative tonight, so i decided to rehash some REALLY old stuff from the old days. in fact, it was the stuff that started the Frydaye Follies, more or less.

Haiku (high-koo). an unrhymed japanese verse form of three lines containing 5, 7, and 5 syllables, respectively.

actually, i think it was William Kennedy who started this mess ... somebody was talking about how want ads in newspapers were like Haiku poems, for instance:

Spotless black 85 Cadillac Fleetwood. Red mudflaps on all four wheels. Navaho blanket covering the front seat.

stuff like that. so natchully, i came up with ...

71 Volkswagen bus, some rust but good shape. used to carry chickens. smells bad.

then it got worse ... the subject matter kinda shifted ...

If you don't succeed at first attempt, then go get a Bigger Hammer.

everything on wheels, including the kitchen sink. Volkswagen Camper.

ok, so who's gonna be the next one to lower their pride and act foolish!??? :)

unca joel
