Subject:      where are the air-con connectors?

Hi all -


I attempted to get my air-conditioning recharged on my 1989 Vanagon (2.1l).  The Bentley manual shows the high side and low side connector located on the tubes running from the back of the compressor towards the front of the van.


But, on my van, there is only one connector that I see (I don't know if it is the high or low one).  The mechanic and I have followed the tubes their full length but don't see the second connector.  HELP!
