Dear Volks,

God bless Tom and anyone else for getting Gerry up again!!

Well took Jezebel (89 Westy) to guru Chris in Decorah (with many thanks to list members Jim and Liz in Decorah who made me feel like family-they're GREAT people) Chris put on the 3 new belts, flushed my coolant system, put in the new Dexcool and tightened up a clamp which had produced a small leak. No head leaks everything looking good. His professional opinion was it looked good and was ready for me to take on my 1400 mile trip alone. So off we went on our 50 mile trip home. The red light never even flickered and all seemed well. EXCEPT......my temp gauge needle now runs at 3/4 and maybe just a needles width away from hot mark. What is going on???? If I put the heater on it drops down. (and heated air always comes out) I don't dare leave now as this is not normal for this van. It used to run right in the middle or just a hair above. I checked all fluids OK , looked underneath, no leaks. Hubby is saying possibly the radiator needs rodding. Please tell me it isn't so.

I needed to leave yesterday to keep my schedule and now I'm scared to go. Anybody have any experience with this or any ideas. I'm now desperate.

Desperate in Iowa,

Katy
