Volks, I trouble shot why the radiator fan coming on -only- when A/C was running, if A/C turned off, fan shut off. Changed radiator thermo sensor, no help. Found a 'semi' blown 30 amp fuse in the fuse block (it had been near blowing and melted the plastic on the fuse but the steel was still continuous), wiggled it and the fan started working as it was supposed to. Replaced fuse w/one of those new 30 amp breakers that fit in place of the fuse and after some wiggling, worked OK. Fan has now gone back to not working and I have employed a temporary fix by attaching a rubber band around the 30 amp breaker (fuse) in the fuse block attaching the other end to a different fuse: this side load is keeping contact breaker (fuse) to the contacts in the block. What is the best long term fix for this. Should I snip the wires at the back of the fuse block for the radiator fan and connect the breaker (fuse) with spade connectors. Or is there another fix for the bad or loose contacts in the fuse block. Also, how hard is that fuse block to remove to get to the back side? Regards 90 CARAT Mark Magee Kemah TX John 14:6 |
